`The purpose of this work:

The men and parents of the men who fought in E Company between 1942 to 1945 have left us. As the next generation ages much of the material related to the service of their father, uncle or older brother is being passed on.  And we don't want to lose it.  But we don't know how it fits in or where it comes from.  We're also aware that the men of E/39 passed on oral stories.  These stories are often not recorded and have to be shared by an inspiring memory.  My goal for this work is to help my generation understand what they are looking when artifacts come their way and to solicit and record the stories held in our parents memories from the men who fought.
